It was all sleep and eat in the plane.. well, it was already past midnight so my bedtime was already used up by the long wait to board the plane.. I couldn't remember how long was my sleep and I consider myself like a zombie.. hehehe.. (a good one though).. friends sitting next to me was sound asleep and I could also hear friends snoring..
zzzzzzz....
We woke up and took a few sip of drink.. it was dry and cold in the plane.. Forgot to apply cream, I went to the lavatory and applied some cream on my hand and fingers.. Then went back to my seat and asked for a glass of juice. It was already almost 5.00 a.m. and I took out a novel that I borrowed from my friend and started reading.. I heard the announcement from the speaker, it was the pilot.. We will be arriving at Brisbane International Airport in less than an hour. So everybody was awake after the annoucement was made.. kinda remind of... hahaha..


Looking at my watch, it was barely 4.00 a.m. (Brunei time) and no wonder I still feel sleepy. It was not long after we had to fill in the form to enter Australia and I finished the apple juice which I have asked earlier. Shortly we landed at Brisbane Int. Airports, quite a descend from the sky and I consider it as a quick landing.
Arriving at the International terminal, we had to take our luggages and proceed to the Domestic Terminal. While waiting for our luggages, we took few pictures (we were not allowed after two snaps with flash lights)..

It was Friday night (22 August 2008) when I left my hometown KB, at precisely 9.30 pm my mom, my eldest brother and my sister-in-law sent me to the airport for the last flight out of Brunei which was scheduled at 1.10 am early hours of 23 August 2008.  

We were told that we had to be at the airport at 11.30 pm and so I arrived at 11.00 pm (half an hour earlier). I didn't see anyone in my group at that time which means that I was the earliest to arrive. So, we waited till about 11.30 pm.. One by one my fellow friends arrived..

We checked in our luggages soon after that and then we have to wait till it was about 12.30 to go into the departure hall. My mom, bro and sis-in-law has left earlier as they have another 1.5 hours drive back to KB. Everybody waved their family members before entering the departure gate.

It was a new experience for me to travel with three of my fellow classmates from high school and also university where we have to work together as a team during our 3 weeks training. 

Well, it was really interesting as everybody in the team automatically blend and it was actually fun working together. Before we enter the plane, we get to know each other and talked, took pictures and joke as well.. Fun!!

Though tired, everybody looked anxious.. waiting to board the plane..

It was really tiring for me to drive from KB to BSB and conducting tutorials during this holy month. Yesterday, I felt it.. really tired.. but I did enjoyed yesterday's session.  Though it was a two session, I find all the seven of them on task and never showed that they want to give up that easily..  So I took pictures of them.. 

Time passes by and last week was my birthday.. and now I'm back in my hometown after the three-week training at ACER (Australian Council for Educational Research) Institute at Camberwell, Victoria State of Melbourne, Australia.  Every training days were very busy as we have to do more than we expected in front of our own laptops.  Now, back in Brunei we have to prepare reports (individual reports - 2 sets and group report), usual stuff after completing any kinda training.

Meeting deadlines - I always encounter this problem.. This week, I have to prepare questions for students whom I'll be training (with 4 others) for the International Mathematics  Competition at Chiangmai, Thailand as well as the International Mathematics and Science Olympiad at Mataram, Java. Tomorrow will be my turn to train them for 2 solid sessions til 4.45 p.m. Apart from that I also have to prepare reports from the ACER training and compiling the group report. And, a new task that I'll be involved is preparing more questions in Numeracy for Primary 4, 6 and Secondary 2.. Bruneian product!! There's three of us involved and all of us weren't expecting that we were proposed to be doing this task with the ACER Institute for the second time around.. Anyway, this is also another opportunity for me.. just to broaden my experiences in the research field and perhaps this will help me prepare a potential proposal for my PhD (next target). Insya Allah.. really hoping to grab the opportunity while I'm still young.

How about my students? Well, I'm hoping that they'll turn up at next week's tutorial sessions that I've planned. I'm really sorry guys that I've been away for quite a while, but I know that you were in good hands while I was away. Anyway, all the best to all my students!

Never give up! Opportunities come and go.. Time changes, we also change hopefully for the better.. Insya Allah..
