Which one.. Education.. or Mathematics..?
Every time I think of what I will be in the future makes me realize that what I’ve been through wasn’t that easy and it wasn’t a joyful ride to what I have at present. Patience has led me to being what I have achieved so far, with all the support from everyone close to me.. Alhamdulillah.. All the experiences, sweet and bitter ones, have taught me valuable lessons to life that I wouldn’t know and expect that they would happen. It was so unpredictable and yet every bits of it still in my vivid memory. What could have been… mistakes… or tests… Everything that happened, they happened for some reasons.. Only Allah knows.. Wallahu ‘Alam..
I’m just trying to re-organize and plan what I wanted to do next.. two years after graduating with my Masters.. well, I wanted to continue my studies but I really need to think hard.. what I will do after that.. Will I still be teaching? Or should I change profession to being an academician or lecturer in the academics department in the local university (will I be accepted?).. or should I carry on doing research with the university while still teaching in schools? Or is there possible chance that I will be accepted to hold a position in the ministry..? or one of the academic faculty in the local university?.. lots of questions in my mind.. I really need to decide what I want to do.. before deciding to write a proposal on what I wanted to do.. either in Education or in Mathematics.. still not clear.. I know that before deciding.. it is wise and best to seek answers from Allah.. perform the Solat Istikharah.. InsyaAllah..
I have asked my former supervisor (lecturer) about this.. and he told me that if I wanted to pursue further education, I must know what I want to do next.. What he said was very true… It left me thinking… and I’m still undecisive.. Thus I need to just relax and not think about it for the time being so that I can decide when I am more calm and I can think rationally.. Know what my priorities are (FIP) by listing all of them (CAF) and what I target (AGO) to achieve… what other plans I should make (Planning)… All of these boils down to what I have learned, practiced and taught to fellow teachers and students.. I guess that is what I should do.. re-organize and plan ahead..
Insya Allah… When there’s opportunity, I will do my very best to take up the challenge, as much as I possibly can, overcome the obstacles that lies ahead, in order to achieve success and be patient along the way..
